Submitting data to a Standard ETQA in standard format (release Level 3)

This release of Edu.Dex allows an accredited Training Provider to validate a file based data submission, which is in the standard ETQA format, prior to submitting the data to a SETA.

The specific file specifications that are required for this type of data submission are currently in use by the following ETQAs:

Council on Higher Education

The following should be noted:

  1. Each of these ETQAs will only accept data that conforms to the Standard ETQA file specification (version 2).
  2. The Edu.Dex data validation utility will ensure that your data submission, based on which standard ETQA you are submitting the data to, complies to the technical specifications for that specific ETQA. Each ETQA however retains the right to reject any data submission even if the data submission has passed the Edu.Dex validation.
  3. The Edu.Dex data validation utility validates your data against lookup codes (for example gender codes, equity codes etc), assessor identifiers, moderator identifiers, qualification codes and codes as stored in the recipient ETQA database. Lookup codes, qualification codes and course codes are dynamic data features of the ETQA database, the Edu.Dex data validation utility must therefore be updated on a regular basis to ensure that your data is validated against the most current data values.

Please note that it is the responsibility of the Training Provider to update the Edu.Dex lookup codes, qualification codes and course prior to testing a data submission.

Please refer to the FAQ – How do I update the Edu.Dex lookup codes, qualification codes and course codes for CHE standard ETQA  submissions? for instructions on how to update the Edu.Dex lookup codes (for example gender codes, equity codes etc), assessor identifiers, moderator identifiers, qualification codes and codes for SETA ETQA submissions.
